In a unexpected crossover event that breaks traditional expectations, the game developer has revealed an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Revealed
According to the authorized statement, "A mysterious meeting draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where hints of banned practices and fearsome changes echo through the shadows." The plot features a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a hidden group.
The mission centers on "strange experiments and a fearsome foe" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Settings and Changes
The preview features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview ends with a dramatic sequence showing a character, likely the captive, changing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Extra Material
Players who finish the mission will acquire an exclusive katana alongside several items concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-inspired costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Exclusive weapons
- Survey Corps steed
Newest Free Story Update
This update also introduces the game's third free story addition, titled "The Enigma." This humorous quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive techniques: Naoe introduces a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns.
