Even though embarking on their first-ever continental campaign, Crystal Palace are adapting at a rapid pace. Without key players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a commanding result that all but secures them a place in the Conference League qualifying rounds.

Another three points in their upcoming fixture against Finnish KuPS should be sufficient to secure direct passage to the knockout stages, especially following a prior setback against Strasbourg.

Squad Members Seize the Opportunity

This match offered a platform for several Palace's fringe players to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second beginning after arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a clinical finish. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a another, scoring for the second consecutive succession.

The match was as good as over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some comically weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.

Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest key players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring his very first touch, only to see his effort blocked.

Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off each posts before being clasped on the line. Uche then missed a glaring chance, showing there is still scope for improvement in his game.

A solitary concern for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, capping an otherwise perfect evening for the traveling side.
